182 many people have a close relationship with their pets. These people treat their birds, cats or other animals as member of their family. In you opinion are such relationship good? Why or why not? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

When it comes to the issue of having a close relationship with a pet, different people hold different views. If I were faced with this question, I would probably say that a close relationship with a pet is not good. In the following discussion, I would like to provide a few of the important reasons to support my opinion.

The most important reason we cannot neglect is that pets carry disease and have parasites on them. If we have a very close relationship with them, such as sleeping with them, eating with them or kissing with them, these behaviors are too easy for us to get disease as well. For example, my friend had a dog which he loved very much, even slept with it on his bed sometimes. There is a big chance of him to infect the disease from the dog. Eventually, when his dog got canine madness, he gave up breeding his dog after he listened to the doctor‘s advice. So it is dangerous to have such a close relationship with pets. If you can understand this, you can understand my point more deeply.

Another head and chief reason that I have chosen to put here is that having a close relationship with a pet can lead to lack of communication with your friends and family members. If you like your pet so much, you  must do a lot of things for it, such as feeding it, bathing it and taking it for a walk everyday. Since these things are very time consuming, you may not have enough time to chat with your family, go out for dinner together, or even go on a short vacation with them. Don‘t you think the relationship with your family and friends is more important than with your pet?

Admittedly, there are advantages for having a close relationship with a pet such as you will never be alone, and they will be loyal to you all the time. Nevertheless, the disadvantages carry more weight than the advantages of it, so the most attractive conclusion is obvious.

To sum up, given all the reasons discussed above, we can safely reach the conclusion that having a close relationship with a pet is not good. I think that people should have a close relationship with their family members or friends instead.
