   I know there are advantages to living in a modern apartment,butId prefer to live in a traditional house. My main reason isthat Ilove traditional design. Its graceful and warm and inviting.Ithink modern design is very empty and sterile and notveryinviting. So, because of the way it looks, Id choose atraditionalhouse. 

　　I recognize the fact that a modern apartment is going to beinmuch better shape. Being new probably means all the plumbingworks,the roof isnt going to leak, the windows are properlysealed, andthe kitchen appliances are in working order. Atraditional housecant guarantee any of that. In fact, its likelythat things willbreak down or need replacement, simply because ofage. Still, ifthe appliances are old, so is the wood, and thats abig advantageas far as Im concerned. Very few new buildings havethe kind ofbeautiful woods that were used years ago. Its somethingthat cantbe copied.

　　Space is always important to me, too. I need a lot of room formyhome office, my clothes, and to display all the knickknacksIvepicked up in my travels. I also like to have interesting space.Idont want all the rooms and windows the same size or aboxydesign. A modern apartment usually comes in one size and shape.Atraditional house is going to have a variety of spaces where Icanput a little table or a window seat. And it will have lots ofroom,from basement 

to attic. These are all good reasons for me topreferliving in a traditional house. 

　　Some people love modern design, but its not for me. The spaceandbeauty of a traditional home are more important to me thanhavingeverything new and perfect.
