1. quiet
quiet指没有吵闹干扰，也形容人性情温和、安静。
It's so quiet without the kids here.
孩子们不在，这里真安静。
He was a quiet, almost taciturn, young man.
他是个文静、几乎不怎么说话的年轻人。

这个词也表示“平和的”，形容“心平气和”就可以用placid。
You should be in a placid mood and have a heart-to-heart talk with her.
你应该心平气和的好好和她谈谈心。
6. pacific
这个词本义是和平的；求和的，也表示“温和的；平静的”。
What a beautiful pacific place this is!
这是一个多么美丽而平静的地方啊！
