　　托福独立写作考试有一类话题特别喜欢考——钱。

　　这类题目看起来很好写，但其实不然。原因很简单，因为太好写了，所以一两句话就感觉写完了有木有!比如来看这样一道题。

　　Do you agree or disagree with the following statement:

　　Most business people are motivated only by the desire of money.

　　怎么样，看完啥感觉?是不是觉得题目很弱智?

　　不是为了钱难道是为了“为人民服务”?!

　　可是……

　　如果这么写，那说好的300字底线怎么凑呢….

　　所以，商人们肯定不能只为了钱，一定不是!就是为了我的作文也不能是!那，他们还能为了啥?刚才不是说了吗，为人民服务啊!

　　比如，做!慈!善!

　　研究来研究去，发现慈善家做慈善的原因也是五花八门，除了就是为了慈善而慈善之外，还有有什么炒作说、避税说等等。不过在我苦(sui)心(bian)钻(kan)研(kan)的过程中, 还真发现了一个特别适合写到我们托福写作中的人物——安德鲁·卡内基(Andrew Carnegie)，美国的钢铁大王，一个超级大土豪!

　　老卡的一生可谓是屌丝逆袭。8岁的时候因为在英国实在混不下去了，所以举家迁往美国。到了美国之后，老卡就和所有书里的成功故事里的主角一样，通过勤奋努力什么的，成为了钢铁大王，走向了人生巅峰，开起土豪捐款模式。在他人生的最后18年，老卡总共捐出了3.5亿美元。要知道这可是在20世纪初呀，那时候的3.5亿美元，相当于今天的786亿美元!实际上老卡在生前把自己90%的财富都通通捐了出去!

　　好人呀!

　　那老卡为何如此疯狂的捐款呢?因为老卡在人生的最后20年认识到，一个人有再多的钱,也不会幸福(我觉得也是，1亿和10亿有啥区别，都是花不完呀花不完!)，还不如拿去帮助别人获得快乐(我怎么就没遇见这样的大好人!!!)。这不妥妥的说明了有的商人不仅仅是为钱驱动，更为了造福社会么!那把老卡的故事也到刚才的作文题目里，一个段子不就妥妥的有了么?

　　下面一起来看卡耐基的段子!

　　Andrew Carnegie，a Scottish-American industrialist who led the enormous expansion of the American steel industry in the late 19th century，built a leadership role as a philanthropist for the United States and the British Empire. In his last years of life, public attention was turned from the shrewd business acumen which had enabled Carnegie to accumulate such a fortune,to the public-spirited way in which he devoted himself to utilizing it on philanthropic projects. During the last 18 years of his life, he gave away to charities, foundations, and universities about $350 million – almost 90 percent of his fortune.

　　咱们先来一起学习一下里面好用的语言和句型，然后再把段子套进题目里，实战一把。

　　Andrew Carnegie，a Scottish-American industrialist who led the enormous expansion of the American steel industry in the late 19th century，built a leadership role as a philanthropist for the United States and the British Empire.

　　enormous expansion是巨大的扩张，这个短语还是很容易写到我们的托福作文里的。

　　比如在这道题：

　　Agree or disagree：Young people today are less dependent on their parents than in the past.

　　这里我们就可以说，大学的扩张造成就业率下降，所以现在的年轻人刚毕业都找不到工作，不靠父母靠谁?

　　The enormous expansion of universities gives rise to the decline of employment rate.

　　Build a leadership role as…可以翻译成作为某种身份树立了领袖形象。当我们想夸一个人牛逼的时候，都可以用到这个句型。比如在这道题里

　　Agree or disagree：Professional athletes, such as football and basketball players, do not deserve the high salaries that they are paid.

　　大家是否会想到心中的体育明星?人家怎么就不值这么多钱?我反正觉得值。这时候咱们就可以用上这样的句型啦!克里斯蒂亚诺·罗纳尔多,全世界最好的足球运动员之一，作为球员为年轻运动员扮演树立了领袖形象。

　　Cristiano Ronaldo, one of the best football players around the world, builds a leadership role as a football star for all the young players.

　　In his last years of life, public attention was turned from the shrewd business acumen which had enabled Carnegie to accumulate such a fortune, to the public-spirited way in which he devoted himself to utilizing it on philanthropic projects.

　　shrewd adj. 精明的

　　acumen n. 聪明

　　Public attention was turned from AAA to BBB 公众的注意力被从AAA转移到BBB

　　这个句型还是很不错的，可以用在一些描写变化的题目中。尤其适合用在题目开头，做背景铺垫之用。拿这道题举个例子。

　　Agree or disagree：To increase economic growth, the government should ignore the environmental concerns.

　　这道题开头咱们就可以说，环境污染日益加重，公众的注意力从经济发展转移到了保护环境上，政府你丫还敢无视环境去发展经济?

　　With the increasingly serious environmental problems, public attention is turned from economic growth to environmental protection.

　　During the last 18 years of his life, he gave away to charities, foundations, and universities about $350 million –almost 90 percent of his fortune.

　　在最后就是列举一些老卡慈善方面的细节。托福写作有细节还是非常重要的，这是ETS在托福独立写作评分标准里明确要求的!不信你看，独立写作的评分标准里就有这么一条。细节!details!

　　Is well organized and well developed, using clearly appropriate explanations, exemplifications, and/ordetails.

　　上面的段子和句型学习完之后，可以思考一下如何把它套用在今天一开始就抛出的题目里，学以致用!
