  congestion

  n.拥塞, 充血

  There is always traffic congestion in that street.

  那条街经常交通阻塞。

  He had a serious congestion of the lungs.

  他得了严重的肺充血。

  congregate

  v.聚集

  A crowd quickly congregated round the speaker.

  大群的人迅速地在演说者周围聚集起来。

  We are congregated for a meeting.

  我们集合起来开会。

  conifer

  n.[植]松类, 针叶树

  conjecture

  n.v.推测, 臆说, 猜想

  He didn't know the fact; what he said was pure conjecture.

  他并不知道实情,他说的纯属猜测。

  The general conjectures that the enemy will launch an attack against us this night.

  将军推测说敌人将于今天晚上突袭我们。

  consecutive

  adj.连续的, 联贯的

  We shall have meetings on two consecutive days, Monday and Tuesday.

  周一周二连续两天我们都将开会。

  The policy of our Party is consecutive.

  我党的政策始终如一。

  consequence

  n.结果, [逻]推理, 推论, 因果关系, 重要的地位

  Such a mistake would perhaps lead to disastrous consequences.

  He studied hard, and in consequence he passed the exam.

  他努力学习,因此通过了考试。

  conservative

  adj.保守的, 守旧的n.保守派

  Old people are usually more conservative than young people.

  He was very conservative in the estimate.

  My father is a real conservative; he still thinks a woman's place is in the house.

  Analyze the sentence into its constituent parts.

  constitute

  vt.制定(法律), 建立(政府), 组成, 任命

  Twelve months constitute one year.

  十二个月构成一年。

  Laws are constituted to protect individual rights and properties.

  法律是为保卫人民的权利和财产而制定的。

  constitution

  n.宪法, 构造, 体质, 体格, 国体, 章程, 惯例

  The constitution of a primitive society is not necessarily simple.

  constitutional

  I felt constrained to do what he told me.

  construction

  A good learner's dictionary should give both the meanings of the words and examples of the
