　词汇匮乏之中国学生英语作文的通病。整篇作文一个词用究竟，从不作任何改动：一遇到“改动/改动”即是change，“影响”即是effect，“盛行”即是popular，“以为”即是think;每当“由于”即是because，“意识到”即是realize，“想到”即是thinkof，等等。本来英语词汇很丰厚的，同一个意思能够由许多不一样的方式表达，如：

　　改动：change，modify，alter，shift，fashion，transform，convert

　　改动：change，vary，convert，fluctuate，oscillate

　　维护：protect，conserve，safeguard

　　保留：save，preserve，conserve，keep，store

　　影响：effect，influence，impact，infection

　　盛行：popular，prevalent，prevailing，current，common，universal

　　以为：think，believe，hold，argue，maintain，deem，opine，reckon，figure

　　意识到：realize，beawareof/that，beawaketo，understand，it/sth.dawnsonsb.

　　想到：thinkof，comeupwith，occurto/strikesb.，cometo，remind，suggest

　　看作：regard…as…，lookon/consider/view/see/take…as…

　　应当：should，oughtto，itis/wouldbebetter，itisadvisableto

　　由于：because，since，as，for，becauseof，owingto，thanksto，dueto，asaresultof，invirtueof，onaccountof，with，from，at，of

　　关于：about，on，withregardto，asregards，concerning，relatingto
