　　连接词是连接单字、片语或子句的字或字群，不能独立充当句子成分。在英语词类中，连接词可说是最容易掌握的一种。

　　我们为什么要掌握连接词呢？

　　在托福口语考试中一共有六个题目，但是并不是六个题目都是由不同的考官来评判。如果我们在这六个题目中都只会有first，second之类的单词，难免会给人词汇缺乏的印象。所以我们在考试中要掌握一些连接词。

　　在托福口语考试中，我们应该掌握的连接词分为六类，主要包括转折，并列，递进，强调，举例和因果等等。

　　(一)因果关系

　　连接词：As ……..;Since………….;Because…………..;For reason that……..;The reason why……is……….;Because of……;On account of ……….;For the sake of;Due to;Result from;Thanks to;Attribute to;Therefore…….;Thus;Hence;As a result;That’s why;For this reason;As a consequence;Consequently

　　举例：

　　1.It’s primarily due to her selflessness and tenderness, we become very close friends.

　　2.For reason that people today rely on the electrical appliances to communicate, work and entrain, high-tech plays a important role in our lives.

　　3.That’s why the young people are rebellious sometime, because their parents are involved too much of making decision for the children’s lives.

　　4.Excessive cars partially attribute to the air pollution in the city.

　　5.Because of my fault, the project hasn’t finished on time and the team was rebuked and held responsible.

　　(二)转折关系

　　连接词：However;But;Nevertheless;In contrast;Whereas; yet; Even so, even if, even though;In spite of, despite;Although;On the other hand;After all

　　举例;

　　1.There are a lot of great movies like Titanic, Forrest Gump, but the movie I want to talk about is Pursuit of Happiness starred by Will Smith.

　　2.Parents simply have more experiences than us; however, they can’t always indicate a right direction for us because things change.

　　3.In spite of his eloquence, he hasn’t won the speech contest.

　　4.Even if there are some great changes in the country, democracy and wellbeing of people are still on the top of the pursuit list.

　　5.Although computer is advanced and very helpful, it can’t compare with human being.

　　三. 举例关系

　　连接词：For example;Take… for example;This is an example;Such as, just as, just like;One of the ;Another is ; In my opinion;suggest; for example, for instance;a case in point

　　举例：1.There are various qualities to make a good leader, for example influential.

　　2.Take one of my successes and one failure for example to demonstrate the importance of studying in a quiet environment.

　　3.This is an example for the students to pay attention to.

　　4.Uncle the neighbor is a warm-hearted man who is good at sports such as skiing, boxing, parachute, etc.

　　四.并列关系

　　连接词：Another point I want mention is;In addition (to) ……;Apart from;Aside from;On the contrary;But on the other hand;Conversely;By contrast;Whereas;

　　举例：1.Some students like doing the assignment in the morning and some prefer to do it in the evening.

　　2.In addition, home made food could provide more various nutrition than the prepared food does.

　　3.Conversely, others prefer to have a free plan instead of a busy schedule.

　　五. 递进关系

　　连接词： Also; Moreover; Furthermore;Besides;Not only… but also; …as well;What’s more; Again

　　举例：1.Furthermore, excessive cars release more CO2.

　　2.Government should not only limit the usage of vehicle, but also make much stricter policy.

　　3.Besides, home made food is more hygiene.

　　4.Fast food could provide adequate nutrition as well.

　　六.强调关系

　　连接词：

　　开头方面：

　　At the beginning;the topic is; we 'll mainly focus on ...;First

　　结尾方面

　　Finally;Last but not least; In short; In conclusion; In the end;at the end of;That is to say;In other words;In fact; As a matter of fact;With regard to;Concerning about; As for;As far as;Speaking of

　　举例：

　　1. Speaking of the most impressed day in my life, it’s definitely the first day that my son learnt to walk.

　　2 .As far as I’m concerned, fast food won’t necessarily cause health disease.

　　3. In fact, people exaggerate the importance of cell phone.

　　4 .Concerning about part-time job, what should be earned is experience.

　　5. In other words, Gone with the wind is the only works of the author.
